TOPVA Works For People With Disabilities

 

TOPVA focuses on readying individuals with disabilities and special needs to work remotely for mainstream businesses.  Serving severely wounded veterans, military spouses and people with special needs, we provide the necessary training, tools and support to enable these individuals to perform traditional business functions, to obtain jobs for which they are fully qualified.

 

TOPVA enables people with disabilities to focus on and strengthen their abilities so they can work in mainstream business with ease and confidence. TOPVA provides “real world” jobs, in a virtual environment. 

 

TOPVA works to fully utilize the latest technology available to enable everyone to reach their maximum potential. For many people with significant disabilities, the increasing prevalence of telework offers the possibility of an accessible, barrier-free workplace, flexible scheduling, and the elimination of disability-related bias or discrimination.

 

We realize that people with disabilities are a severely underutilized population of employees. Our mission is to identify telework job opportunities, train, supervise, and mentor these individuals in meaningful positions of employment. TOPVA will:

  • Interview, screen and assess the abilities of each individual.
  • Ensure each person has the proper infrastructure to function in a virtual environment.
  • Provide customized job placement programs for each person based on their skills,  qualifications, specific future project requirements, and their special needs and/or disability.
  • Provide team leaders and a supervisor for daily mentoring/monitoring and productivity goal achievement
  • Assign a specific TOPA project to begin the socialization and discipline of working in a virtual environment.  Each person is “on the clock” for a set number of hours per week.  Depending on the project, there is ongoing data entry of work accomplished.  Each person has a time card and maintains assigned schedules.
  • Constantly expose these individuals to new and more complex projects as their skills increase to create a multi-faceted employee.
  • Challenge and reward those individuals who show initiative and high results.  Our team leaders and supervisors (with disabilities) have risen through the ranks and have been promoted and given additional responsibilities and increased compensation.
  • Place candidates on temporary client project(s) that could result in that client’s direct hire.
